And finally …. a fight between the blackcap and the siskin.  I think the blackcap won!

Recently I photographed these frogs in a very small pond which was no bigger than an armchair!

How many frogs can you count in the picture?

The total number I saw in this pond was over 30.  In the early morning you could hear all these frogs ‘singing’ at the same time.  It sounded like a very big cat purring!

At this time of year they get together to lay frogspawn from which we get tadpoles.  Can you see the frogspawn in the picture?  Here is a closer look.
